Mohar Haveli, also known as the Museum of Heritage and Art (MOHAR), is located in Ramgarh Shekhawati, Rajasthan, a town celebrated for its exceptionally rich legacy of painted havelis and merchant architecture. The haveli dates back to the late 18th–19th century, a period when Ramgarh flourished as a prosperous mercantile center under the patronage of wealthy Marwari trading families. Like many Shekhawati havelis, it was originally built as a private residential mansion reflecting the social status, cultural aspirations, and artistic patronage of its owners. With the decline of traditional trade routes during the colonial period, many such havelis fell into neglect. Mohar Haveli, however, has been carefully revived in recent years and re imagined as a museum and cultural space dedicated to preserving the artistic, architectural, and intangible heritage of the Shekhawati region. Today, it stands as a living heritage site, showcasing regional art, artifacts, and traditions while contributing to the broader revival of Ramgarh as a heritage destination.
